Armed Offenders Callout in Gisborne

Gisborne Police were lastnight called to a Bloomfield Road address after reports that a male outside a house had discharged a firearm.

The Armed Offenders Squad were deployed and located a male further down the road about one hour later.

At this stage no firearms have been located and no one has been injured. This incident appears to be domestic related.

A 37 year old male has been arrested and is likely to appear in court tomorrow. The nature of the charges is not known at this stage.
