Male rescued from Waterfall - Taranaki Falls Tongariro National Park

Emergency services responded to a report of a 40 year old male trapped at Taranaki Falls in Tongariro National Park at about midday today.

Police Ambulance Fire and Search and Rescue attended the scene.

 The rescue helicopter from Taupo was also utilized.

The male was forced onto rocks and was in danger of being swept over a water fall by river waters.  

Rescue services managed to locate and recover the man from the rocks using ropes.

He was unhurt but suffering from the cold and was taken to hospital in Taupo with his wife.
