WELLINGTON CITY

Titahi Bay's Steven Kent picked up another three titles during the second session of finals at surf lifesaving's national pool championships in Wellington tonight, giving him six in total with one more day to come.
The younger brother of recently retired Olympian Dean, Kent showed his recent world championship experience had paid off, capturing the 50m manikin carry and line throw titles and anchoring his club's obstacle relay team to victory.

It's already doubled the number of titles the 20-year-old won at last year's championships.
Lyall Bay Olympic swimmer Natasha Hind also helped herself to two more titles, in the 100m swim with obstacles and the medley relay, while St Clair's Carla Laughton matched Hind's efforts by winning the 100m rescue medley and pairing with Michelle Grainger to win the line throw.

The final day of competetion is tomorrow, with Lyall Bay holding a mammoth 429-point lead over second-placed Gisborne club Waikanae in the overall club standings.
