Vehicle accident, Coatesville - Riverhead Hwy

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a vehicle accident at the intersection of Coatesville-Riverhead Highway and Screen Road.

The collision occurred between a ute and a motorbike, and there are initial reports of serious injury.

Police advise there is likely delays and motorists should take alternative routes.

Emergency services are at the scene of a vehicle accident on SH16, approximately 30km south of Wellsford. A vehicle has rolled into a ditch
It is believed one person has been critically injured, and another has moderate injuries.
The Road will be blocked till approximately 17.30 hours and southbound traffic are advised to avoid SH16 and use SH1 as an alternative route.
Northbound traffic should divert at Kaukapakapa to avoid delays.
