Serious motor vehicle collision in Waikato

At 1.15p.m. a motor vehicle collison occurred between a truck and car on SH2 Karangahape Gorge. Serious injuries and a diesel spill have resulted in the Karangahape Gorge being temporarily closed.
Diversions in place at SH26 from Paeroa though to the southern end of SH2. Also SH26 through to SH27 south to Matamata then SH24 through to SH29 and back up to SH2 Tauranga side.
One occupant is being airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
