Oil Spillage from Waiouru to Sanson

Up to approximately 2300ltrs of automatic transmission fluid has been spilt onto State Highway One, South bound from Waiouru to Sanson.
As a result of the fluid on the road a truck has jack knifed near Ohingaiti, blocking State Highway One. Emergency services and a vehicle recovery unit are at the scene.
It is recommended to possibly delay your travel plans should you have to travel through that area.
