Two men steal van from tourists

At approximately 12.30 am on Monday the 27th October 2008, two men presented a firearm at four Irish Tourists and demanded the keys to their rental van.

The two males drove off in the van, there was a substantial amount of property in this van. The property in the van was generators and water blasters.

Descriptions of the men are, one male Maori in his thirties, the taller of the two had a full facial un- kept beard and bad teeth. He had a blue scarf around his face and was wearing a jacket with a hoodie and grey track pants.

The other man was a Maori,in his twenties and clean shaven, he was wearing a light brown hooded jacket with long sleeves, white scarf over his chin, base ball cap and big lace up boots.

One of these males is alleged to be in possession of a long barrel firearm and the other male is alleged to be in possession of a pistol.

These two males were also seen in the Caltex Service Station just prior to this incident.

Police are requesting that if any member of the public saw anyone fitting this description that were in the vicinity of the Caltex Service Station at approximately 11.15 pm on Sunday the 26th October 2008 to contact the Dargaville Police.
