Celebrating success

Stratford District Council Engineering Officer Kim Jansen has completed his NZ Certificate of Engineering (Civil). The trade certificate means his wealth of experience is now formally recognised.

Kim worked for almost six years as a cadet with the Hamilton City Council, then for two years with private contractors before being employed by the Stratford District Council.

The NZ Certificate of Engineering is a five year part-time course that requires at least three years work experience. Even with more than six years at the Stratford District Council, Kim found the experience rewarding. “It’s the completion of something I started a long time ago,” says Kim, “and I’m really proud to have achieved it.”
