Motor Vehicle Collision - SH25 Wharekaho/Simpsons Coroamandel

At about 9.20a.m. on saturday 1 November 2008 a participant in a Cycle Race being held in the Coromandel Peninsula was involved in a collision.

The incident occurred on State Highway 25 a short distance north of Wharekaho/Simpsons Beach.

The cyclist received serious injuries as a result of the crash and has been airlifted to Auckland hospital.

Police are looking for a white Nissan Navarra double cab utility which was travelling north on SH25 at the time.

SH25 has been reopenned.
