Gas Main Rupture - Carrington Road, Mount Albert

Police and Fire Units are currently at the scene of a gas main rupture in Carrington Road, Mount Albert.

Although the gas is dissapating Police are maintaining road blocks and diverting traffic on Carrington Road between Fontenoy Street and Seaview Terrace.

Residents in the area, either at home or returning to home this evening, are advised that there may be a strong smell of gas inside their dwellings and that they should vent their houses by opening windows and doors to get rid of the smell.

All roadblocks are expected to be lifted before 4.30pm.
