Chemical spill on Lindis Pass

At about 3.15am on 5/11/08 a truck and trailer unit has rolled on the Lindis Pass. The driver has been taken to Oamaru hospital with moderate injuries.
The truck had dangerous goods on board which are still in the process of being identified.
Some chemicals have leaked from the truck and it is being treated as a hazardous substance spill. The Lindis Pass has been closed to all traffic and it is not known at this stage how long it will take to clear but is likely to be closed until at least until midday.
