Fatal crash in Mt Wellington

At about 11.15p.m. on thursday 6 November 2008 a BMW motor vehicle collided with traffic island and light standard at the intersection of Carbine Road and the South Eastern Highway, Mt Wellington.
As a result of that collision, a female has died and three other persons have been taken to hospital, one of those persons is believed to have serious injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and speed is believed to have been a factor in the incident.
There is a partial road closure in place at the intersection of the South East Highway and Carbine. This is expected to be cleared within the next two hours.
Details of the deceased and injured will be released at a later date.
