Snowboarding Accident Turoa

Ohakune Police are continuing to investigate the death of a woman who slipped and fell over a bank while snowboarding at Turoa Ski field operated by Ruapehu Alpine Lifts.

She was Adele Joanne SAWYER, 29 years, graphic Designer from Wellington.

The accident occurred in an area known as Organ Pipes at around 1.20pm on 8 November 2008 while the deceased was snowboarding with two associates.

The full circumstances of the incident are still being investigated and the matter has been referred to the coroner.
