Missing swimmer - Clutha River, Roxburgh, Central Otago

At about 3.15pm on 11/11/08 police were advised of a swimmer in the Clutha River near Roxburgh who had gone missing.

He had been swimming with a companion when he went under and failed to surface.

A search using jet boats and a helicopter has been conducted and the river flow at the Roxburgh dam was also reduced to assist.

The person has not been located.

The missing person is a 16 year old male.

Enquiries are being made in relation to next-of-kin.
