Body found off Sumner beach in Canterbury District, 10:00pm 12 Nov 2008

A 15 year old Kayaker located a body floating about 100 meters off Sumner Beach in the Estuary this evening.
The body has been removed to the Christchurch Hospital Mortuary, and the case referred to the coroner.
The body remains unidentified but would appear to be that of a male and is wearing work clothing consistent with those worn by the workers from a Niad boat which went missing near Lyttelton harbour on Tuesday 28 October.
