AUCKLAND

Glen Innes Police investigating the near fatal stabbing of a 23 year old taxi driver in Mt Wellington late on Friday night, today arrested a 31 year old casual labourer from Papakura.
He will appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow charged with wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm and aggravated robbery.
The taxi driver was stabbed six times during the alleged attack that happened in Bertrand Rd, Mt Wellington, at about 11.40pm on Friday. He was taken off a ventilator on Monday and has been making good progress in his recovery since.
