Homicide in Christchurch in Canterbury District, 5:00am 6 Dec 2008

At about 1 am this morning a taxi driver has been stabbed by at least two persons on Worcester Street near the corner of Barbadoes Street Christchurch. He has died at the scene from his wounds.
Witnesses have seen two people running from the taxi heading east towards Fitzgerald Avenue.
Police will be examining the scene today.
'This is a tragic crime which someone will know or have been told about, we ask you to come forward and assist us with locating the people responsible'
Police are appealing to anyone with information about this crime to contact the Christchurch Central Police on 3637400.
