Fatal Crash in Bay of Plenty District, 1:30pm 14 Dec

Taupo Police are investigating a Fatal Vehicle crash on The Napier-Taupo Highway.

The location is 5 kilometres north of the Tarawera Hotel.

Shortly after 1.30pm a Truck and trailor unit has rolled and the driver has died as a result of injuries sustained.

A heavy lifting crane has been called to the scene to right the truck and remove the driver from the truck.

Serious crash investigators are making their way to the scene.

The road is partially closed with one lane open to both directions of traffic in a controlled manner.

Next of Kin have yet to be located and informed
