Truck fatality victim named

Wellington Police have released the name of the truck driver who died at the scene of last Friday's fatal accident above the Southern Landfill, Owhiro Bay.

He was Brian Adrian Taurerewa, aged 55 years, a Wellington City Council employee, of Johnsonville.

Mr Taurerewa was fatally crushed when his dumptruck slid while carrying out excavation work on a steep track above the landfill.
