Body found in river in Canterbury District, 8:00am

Police are currently attending a scene in Dallington Tce after a body was found in the Avon River.

The body was found at about 6.50am on 19/12/08 by a member of the public, who advised police.

Police cannot confirm at this stage the sex or age of the body, or how long it has been in the water.

Road closures are currently in place on Dallington Tce between McBratneys Rd and Gayhurst Rd.
