Armed Robbery in Waitemata District, 7:55am

Police in West Auckland are investigating the Armed Robbery of a Liquor Store.

Shortly before 8am this morning police were called to King Dicks Liquor in Great North Road Glen Eden.

A male armed with a knife had entered the store as it was being opened.

A butcher from a neigbouring shop has intervened and apprehended the male.

Police understand that a another member of public has also helped hold the offender until police arrival.

Police appreciate the actions of the two members of the public in coming to the aid of the female shop attendant.

No injuries have been reported.
