Death in Wellington District, 10:05pm 29 Dec 2008

Media Release on behalf of Upper Hutt Police.
'Upper Hutt Police are investigating the death of an 8 month old baby girl who died on Christmas Day in Upper Hutt. The baby was in the care of Child, Youth and Family at the time of her death.

Police are conducting enquiries on behalf of the Coroner to determine the circumstances which led to her death. This is usual practice in cases where a child dies when in the care of Child, Youth and Family.

A post-mortem was held on 26 December 2008.

Police will not be releasing any further details until Monday 5 January 2009'.
