Pedestrian Injured in Waitemata District, 4:30am

WAITAKERE CITY

Waitakere CIB and the Auckland Serious Crash Unit are investigating an incident in which a pedestrian was seriously injured.

At about 4.30 am on the 31st of December 2008 Police and Ambulance staff were called to Rathgar Road, Henderson.

On arrival Police found a seriously injured female aged 38 years.

Prior to Police arrival members of the public had a lifted a motor vehicle off the injured woman after she became trapped under it during the incident.

Police are speaking to the driver of the motor vehicle and witnesses to the incident to determine what occurred.
The female sustained serious injuries and is in a critical but stable condition in Auckland Hospital.

A 43 year old male will be appearing the Waitakere District Court facing charges in relation to the incident.

Police are not looking for anyone else and have no further comment to make as the matter is now before the Court.
