WELLINGTON

Kapiti Police are currently investigating a spate of incidents involving wilful damage to both residential and commercial premises.

These incidents have involved projectiles being fired at windows causing considerable damage.

The projectiles have involved marbles and stones.

Police are satisfied a firearm is not involved.

There have been in excess of 30 incidents reported to police which have occurred randomly throughout the Kapiti district since early December 2008.

Police are concerned that it is only a matter of time before a member of the public is injured given the velocity at which the projectiles are travelling at when being fired.

The Kapiti Police are very interested in speaking with anyone who has information about these incidents.

Contact can be made with Constable Vanessa Knyn on 04 296 6800.
