Diving incident in Canterbury District, 1:00pm

Emergency services responded to a flare sighting near Gore Bay at around 1145 am this morning.

A diver had been diving from a small vessel.

The vessel had drifted away from the diving area and then had broken down.

A rescue Helicopter located the diver safe and well.

The broken down vessel was towed to shore by another vessel.
