Road conditions affected by heat in Central District

Police are asking motorists to exercise caution when travelling through the Desert Road this evening.

The extreme heat on the Central Plateau is causing the tar seal on the road to melt and lift. Sand has been put down on the road but this has also made conditions slippery.

Signage has been placed in the areas that have been affected.
