Family party gets out of hand in Whakatane

The police attended a disorder incident in Whakatane late last night when a family party got out of hand. Initial reports indicated that a firearm was involved and a person had been stabbed. These claims were not substantiated and no arrests were made. Ambulance did treat a person at the scene for a minor wound that had been inflicted accidentally.
