Vehicle crash in Central District, 10:00pm 23 Jan

Police are currently at the scene of a vehicle crash on State Highway One just south of Foxton.

A single vehicle has crashed into the Whirokino Bridge - and the single occupant has been seriously injured.

The road is open, although it has been reduced to one lane.

The Police serious crash unit are investigating the crash.

Motorists should expect delays in the area until approximately midnight while a scene examination is completed.
