New Zealand Police Alert 8:05am

Police are seeking witnesses following an early morning fatality collision on the Northern motorway near Onewa Road.

A Black Toyota hatchback driven by a female collided with a barrier after travelling the wrong way in the city bound lanes over the Auckland harbour Bridge at about 3:30am.

Two witnesses have made contact with Police, but inquiries are now focussed on the movements of the vehicle and where it entered the motorway.

Senior Constable Karl Bevin of the Waitemata Serious Crash Unit said 'Someone must have seen this vehicle in the central CBD area travelling in the wrong direction, it would have been very distinctive'

Police have yet to make contact with Next of Kin and enquiries are continuing.
