Fatal Crash in Counties Manukau District, 5:00pm

At about 5:10 pm this afternoon in the vicinity of 401 Karioitahi Road, Franklin District.

A car lost control, left the road and went down an embankment. One person was trapped in the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle died at the scene and the passenger was transported by the Westpac helicopter to hospital.
