Escape custody in Waitemata District, 4:45pm

About 6pm on Friday 6th February in the Helensville area, an offender escaped from police custody.

A search of the local area resulted in the male offender being located in the grounds of Kaipara College and was taken back in to police custody.

A police member was briefly hospitalised with cuts to his arm as during this incident and is expected to fully recover.

The Offending male has been charged with numerous offences including Assaults Police and escapes custody, he appeared at Waitakere District court and was bailed off to a future date. Police are not looking for any one else in relation to this incident.
