Aggravated robbery in Wellington

Wellington Police are investigating a reported aggravated robbery that occurred at approximately 11:15pm on Saturday 14 February 2009.

The 44 year old male victim was the only occupant of his Brooklyn flat. As he lay asleep in bed three masked men entered his room and attacked him with a baseball bat.

The offenders demanded money from the victim and ran off with a small amount of cash and some other personal effects.

As a result the victim sustained a fractured arm, suspected fractured ribs and several bruises to his upper body. He was taken by ambulance to Wellington Hospital where he currently remains. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The offenders are believed to be Caucasian in their late teens / early 20's.
