Attempted abduction in Waitemata District, 4:30pm

The North Shore Child Abuse Team are investigating the attempted abduction of an 11 year old school girl in the Beach Haven, North Shore area this morning.
 

The girl was walking to school on Fordham Street, Beach Haven when she was approached from behind by a male in a vehicle who got out and grabbed hold of her.
 

The girl struggled free and ran to school where she immediately raised the alarm.

Police are looking for the following male and vehicle described as similar to:

*       Male Maori or Polynesian

 

*       Possibly in his late teens

 

*       Approximately 6 foot tall

 

*       Wearing a white and black cap with thick white stripes, baggy jeans and a green and white basketball type shirt

 

 

*       White Honda Civic 2 door hatchback

 

*       Dent in the driver's door

 

*       Possible partial Registration plate starting with the letters, XA????
