Assault in Christchurch, arrest in Auckland

Christchurch Police have been actively seeking 23 year old Tihina Edwards in relation to a serious assault on a 21 year old man in Cathedral Square on Thursday 1 January 2009.
Edwards has been charged with Wounding with Intent and Male Assaults Female from the same incident in Cathedral Square. He failed to appear in the Christchurch District Court on 11 February 2009 and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
Edwards was arrested overnight in Auckland and has been charged with stealing a Subaru and being in possession of an offensive weapon. He will be appearing in the Auckland District Court on Friday 20 February 2009.
