Attempted kidnapping in Christchurch
Police are seeking the identity of a male driving a black van after a 16 year old female reported that a man grabbed her and tried to pull her into the vehicle.
The incident occurred on Stanmore Road near the intersection of Armagh Street at about 4:15pm Monday 16 February 2009.
The lone male driver has been described as caucasion, aged 30 -35 years, slim face, medium build. He had long blonde hair past his shoulders and appeared to have brown or black regrowth. He wore a black t-shirt with white writing on the front.
The van is described as a black older style model, dusty, with a rip in the material on the front passengers seat. There was an orange coloured shade or material covering the middle window on the passenger side.
There was a dog in the van described as a possible Staffordshire/Bull Mastiff cross coloured tan and black.
Police also want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have noticed something. In particular a female walking along Stanmore Road, described as being 20 -25 years of age with brown hair tied up in a ponytail, light green jacket and wearing a backpack, who may have reacted to hearing a loud whistle.
