Cliff Rescue in Sumner

At about 6.30pm Police were advised of a female who had fallen off a cliff at Whitewash Head, Sumner, Christchurch.

She landed on a ledge and the Westpac helicopter was used to winch her to safety.

A Cliff Rescue team was also on standby but wasn't needed.

A 17 year old female has been transported by helicopter to Christchurch hospital. Her injuries at this stage are unknown.
