Auckland City Council wishes to advise that road repair and surfacing works are scheduled for two sections of Symonds Street.
.
From Sunday 22 February to Wednesday 25 February the carriageway from the Waterloo Quadrant / Alten Avenue intersection to the Grafton Road / Alfred Street intersection will be given a new road surface and line marking.

This will involve night work and some temporary diversions will be in place.

From Thursday 26 February to Wednesday 4 March the carriageway from the Grafton Road / Alfred Street intersection to the Wellesley Street over bridge will also be re-surfaced and line marked.

This portion of Symonds Street will be closed to through-traffic for some periods of time. However, crews will work continuously day and night to minimise this disruption. Please allow extra travel time and follow the detour arrows.

Please note this work is weather dependant. If wet, this work will take place Thursday 19 March to Wednesday 25 March.

These works will involve some noise, vibrations and possibly dust. Every attempt has been made to minimise disturbance and we will be adopting the best industry practices. The noisiest activities will be confined to prior to 11pm but there will be some machinery noise and vibratory rolling through the night.

If you live or work adjacent to these works, some simple precautions should be taken such as shutting windows and not leaving items where they could fall and be damaged.
