Police are seeking information as to the whereabouts of a four month old female child, who was reported missing from the emergency department of the Whangarei Hospital shortly after mid-night on Friday morning. Serious concerns are held for the infant as it needs IV and antibiotics. The infant may still have an IV line in its arm and is in a dehydrated condition.
It is believed the child was taken by her mother, who provided the name of Jessie Martin, and is described as a 23 year old, Maori, 157cm tall of medium-thin build.
The child's name was given as Riot Cameron Martin.
The mother provided a William Jones Drive address in Otangarei, and has had a previous address at Matawaia Maromaku Road, Maromaku, Far North District.
Police request that any person who knows of the current whereabouts of Ms Jessie Martin or her child, call Police on (09) 571-2800.
