Severe Weather Warning for Weekend in Central District

Police wish to remind motorists travelling on the roads this weekend to look at the latest weather forecast before travelling.

The Metservice has issued a heavy rain warning for central north island. This heavy rain may cause surface flooding and slips on the roads. Also severe gale easterly winds are forecast on saturday afternoon and evening from Waikato to the Kapiti Coast. These winds may become hazardous for high sided vehicles and motorcyclists.

Motorists should be aware of this predicted weather and drive to the conditions at the time.
