Appeal for witnesses to Hamilton bike crash to come forward

Hamilton Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a single vehicle crash in Chartwell this evening that has left a motorcyclist critically injured.

Police and St John Ambulance staff were called to the intersection of Donny Ave and Chelsea Pl about 9.30pm after reports a man aged in his forties had lost control of his motorbike.

A member of the public, who hadn't witnessed the crash, had found the man bleeding from the head, initial indications at the scene are that he was not wearing a crash helmet at the time he came of his motorbike.

The rider was taken to Waikato Hospital by ambulance in a critical condition.
