Court appearance over school stabbing

A 17 year-old Korean student will appear in the Auckland District Court today charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after being arrested in Blockhouse Bay an hour after a teacher at Avondale College was stabbed in his classroom this morning.

Police have completed the scene examination of a classroom where the attack on a 49 year-old teacher is alleged to have happened while up to 20 other students were present.

The alleged victim is due to be discharged from Auckland Hospital this [yesterday] evening.
