Boating tragedy; deceased named

Following next of kin notification Maritime Police have released the name of the Flatbush, Manukau City, resident killed in a boating tragedy near Rangitoto Island on 3 March 2009.

He was Russell Lesley John BROWN aged 68 years.
BROWN died after his clothing caught in the rotating drive shaft of his boat while trying to source the location of a major leak after the vessel had struck rocks.
The matter has been referred to the Coroner by Police and Maritime New Zealand are also investigating.
