Serious accident on SH2 - road closed in East Coast

10.15am - Emergency services are at the scene of a single car accident on SH2 between Whakaki and Nuhaka on the East Coast.
Details are sketchy at this stage but two occupants are seriously injured and will shortly be airlifted to Hospital.
At this stage SH2 is closed and diversions are in place at Gisborne and Wairoa ends. It is hoped to the SH2 open by midday.
