Fatal crash in Southern District, 5:00pm 9 Mar 2009

Alexandra Police have now released the names of the persons involved in the fatal crash at Millers Flat obn 07/03/09.
The deceased was Philip James COX aged 58 years of Dunedin.
Mr COX was a passenger in a Toyota car driven by Arthur Leslie BLONDELL aged 59 years of Dunedin
The driver of the Toyota van is Yannick Ramarick TEVI aged 22 years a Vanuatuan national currently working in Central Otago.
Police inquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing. These include witness interviews and an examination of the vehicles involved in conjunction with the scene examination.
The scene examination has now been completed and I am grateful for the patience of the travelling public who had an extra 15 minutes tacked onto their journey by the detours that were put in place.
If anyone has information about the crash and has not yet spoken to Police I ask that they contact their nearest Police Station.
It is only after all inquiries have been completed and all the facts are known that Police can consider whether any further charges will be laid against any person.
