Fatal air crash in West Coast

WEST COAST

At approximately 11.00 am this morning, Sunday 15th March 2009, a light aircraft, similar to a large micro-light, crashed in a farm paddock along side State Highway 6 south of Inangahua Junction, on the West Coast.
The male pilot, the only occupant, was killed instantly.
Witnesses stated the plane had been seen flying north immediately prior to it suddenly nose diving into the ground

Investigators from the Civil Aviation Authority are at the scene and have commenced their investigation.
The name of the deceased will be released on Monday.
