Police are still looking for William Alexander Stewart and believe he is still in the Selwyn area.

"We think he's somewhere in Selwyn towards Banks Peninsula," says Senior Sergeant Stewart Munro. "People should make sure that they don't leave keys in vehicles, especially farm vehicles. Check that outbuildings and properties are secure."

Any thefts of food should be reported. Stewart is thought to have cut his long hair into a rough no 2 haircut. It is believed he is driving a white 1993 Subaru Legacy reg CR 6361.
