MANUKAU CITY

Counties-Manukau Police have commenced a homicide investigation following a 37 year old being stabbed to death overnight.
He is believed to have been attacked outside 198 Preston Road Otara.
St Johns Ambulance had been called to the location and on their arrival administered emergency aid however could not save him.
Initial enquiries have established that two vehicles sped away from the location together immediately after the attack.
Both vehicles contained several occupants including a large Polynesian woman travelling in the front passenger seat of a late model red coloured Holden saloon described as having a spoiler on the rear of it.
With it was an older model silver Subaru with roof rails.
Both vehicles headed towards the East Tamaki area on Preston Road.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise those vehicles or is able to provide information about the occupants or any activities in connection with those vehicles during Friday evening.
It is possible that the vehicles and the manner in which they were being driven came to the attention of other motorists at about 11.30pm on Friday evening in that locality.
The deceased is believed to be a family man and resident of Otara. A post mortem examination will be conducted on Saturday.
Any information can be forwarded to any Police Station or by phoning Counties Manukau Station at 295-0200.
