Otara man sought by North Shore Police located in Wellington
The 23 year old Otara man being sought by North Shore Police in relation to Op WHARF has been located. This is the incident on the morning of Tuesday the 24th of March 2009 where a Police officer was struck by a vehicle that was subsequently abandoned in the water at Beachhaven Wharf.
He was arrested in Wellington on Saturday afternoon, (28th of March 2009) following information received from the public. The arrest was a result of a coordinated response from the Wellington and North Shore Criminal Investigation Branches.
He will be held in custody to appear in the Wellington District Court on Monday the 30th of March 2009. He will be facing charges of aggravated wounding, burglary (two counts), theft of a motor vehicle, and a number of serious driving charges. Police will be seeking to have the matter remanded back up to the North Shore District Court.
The woman named by Police in regards to the same Operation earlier this week, Linda Cherie PHILLIPS, is still outstanding and any information about her whereabouts should be communicated to the nearest Police Station.
