Fatal car v pedestrian in Wellington District

Incident type: Fatal car v pedestrian

At approximately 1230 this morning a male was struck by a vehicle travelling south along the River Road, State Highway 2, Upper Hutt.
He was taken to Wellington Hospital in a serious condition but died shortly after arriving.
The Victim, a male in his late 40's, is yet to be identified however police hope to establish his name later this morning.
The two occupants of the vehicle involved in the incident were shaken but unhurt.
