ESCAPED PRISONER CAPTURED
The prisoner that escaped from police custody in Nelson this afternoon has been re-captured
Kane John Thompson was found by police officers in a garage in Seymour Avenue in Nelson at about 4.35 p.m. this afternoon.
Thompson was taken back into custody without incident and was located nearby to where he was last sighted.
Thompson is to be charged with aggravated assault, escaping custody and unlawfully on property. He will be appearing in the Nelson District Court tomorrow
One of the officers that was escorting Thompson received bruising to her left eye but was otherwise uninjured
